Thrifted Transformation Project: Process

Hello and welcome. It has been a while since I made a post. I promise to keep the post coming.

In this post I am introducing you to an outfit I put together. The top part of the outfit is made with Kente cloth which is a traditional Ghanaian print. This was a piece of cloth that came with a dress my grandad made for me a few years back. I am having to thrift that dress and will reveal it soon.

The design and material I had in mind

I watched YouTube to replicate a pattern however after putting it together I didn't like it as I felt it was too revealing and was thinking of throwing it away or taking it apart and using it for something else until I had an epiphany 😂. (I've been wanting to use this word for some time now so here goes). I wanted to wear it as a top with various skirts.

I also had a few scuba fabrics I bought from ebay I wanted to make some skirt out of it to wear with the top. I bought lining for the scuba skirt however it didn't arrive so my scuba project has been delayed and I'm not sure if there's any point buying again as the sellers fabric was quite affordable.

Now back to the epiphany moment. I decided to put the top on and wrap the scuba around to see which one suits best. I then got an image of Google and drafted and cut a pencil skirt from the navy blue scuba fabric to produce this. Attaching the zip was a challenge but I tried. 😊

Up close it doesn't look the best, but from afar it looks wearable.

Until next time wait for the big reveal.

I Made My First Wig With Lace Closure

Hello and welcome to my blog. In this post I will be writing about some of the things I have been up to, particularly things to do with hair. I had this routine where I braided my hair and kept it for about a maximum of 3 months, took it down, treated my scalp and then follow the cycle again. To be honest I was a bit tired of this process as it took a little over 10 hours to braid the hair and the thought of taking it down was a bit daunting too. Introducing: My First Thrifted Transformation Project

Hello and welcome to my blog. So as you may know I recently decided to be more of content creator or creative and have picked up sewing. This is something I wanted to learn for sometime however due unforseen circumstances they got brushed off. In addition to my multiple sewing projects I have an outfit I am transforming. I have had the outfit for some time now and the idea was that with time I will grow into it but that never happened. Due to this, now is the time to transform it to my size and wear it. When this was getting made in Ghana, I didn't send my measurement and I assume my grandad thought I had put on weight. The dress was almost twice my size when I got it first. The initial style was halter neck however I have completely change the style to an off shoulder-like dress. See pic below.  The questions is to whether have this as a skirt and top or a dress. A dress will be easier in themes of having the supplies I need whereas a top and skirt are the easi

The Natural Hair Journey Continues: Box Braiding My Own Hair

Hello and welcome. This is a hair post. I remember in secondary school, my friends would corn row my hair when my hair is not in braids. I wore braids most of the time and due to this my hair grew really long. My mum would usually braid my hair and so I rarely went to the hairstylist to plait my hair. In recent years I have been braiding my own hair. Partly due to the fact that I cannot be bothered to go and get it done. The thought of sitting for so long just haunts me and hurts my ever growing butt * sweeps hair to side. Also I notice that  In addition to this, although it does not look uber professional its cheap because I only have to buy the hair. I usually keep it in for about 2 months and I prefer not to over manipulate the hair.  When I first went natural I went to a lady to cornrow my hair and she put a hot comb through my precious natural hair like the world was at her mercy. From then I decided to do my own hair because it seemed like man
