Thrifted Transformation Project: Process

Hello and welcome. It has been a while since I made a post. I promise to keep the post coming.

In this post I am introducing you to an outfit I put together. The top part of the outfit is made with Kente cloth which is a traditional Ghanaian print. This was a piece of cloth that came with a dress my grandad made for me a few years back. I am having to thrift that dress and will reveal it soon.

The design and material I had in mind

I watched YouTube to replicate a pattern however after putting it together I didn't like it as I felt it was too revealing and was thinking of throwing it away or taking it apart and using it for something else until I had an epiphany 😂. (I've been wanting to use this word for some time now so here goes). I wanted to wear it as a top with various skirts.

I also had a few scuba fabrics I bought from ebay I wanted to make some skirt out of it to wear with the top. I bought lining for the scuba skirt however it didn't arrive so my scuba project has been delayed and I'm not sure if there's any point buying again as the sellers fabric was quite affordable.

Now back to the epiphany moment. I decided to put the top on and wrap the scuba around to see which one suits best. I then got an image of Google and drafted and cut a pencil skirt from the navy blue scuba fabric to produce this. Attaching the zip was a challenge but I tried. 😊

Up close it doesn't look the best, but from afar it looks wearable.

Until next time wait for the big reveal.

I Made My First Wig With Lace Closure

Hello and welcome to my blog. In this post I will be writing about some of the things I have been up to, particularly things to do with hair.
I had this routine where I braided my hair and kept it for about a maximum of 3 months, took it down, treated my scalp and then follow the cycle again.
To be honest I was a bit tired of this process as it took a little over 10 hours to braid the hair and the thought of taking it down was a bit daunting too.

The initial plan was to have a friend construct a wig for me however because she lives a bit too far from me I gather this courage and awoke the wild side of me to fantasize about the idea of making my own wig.

And I did 😁. I purchased the equipment from aliexpress.com together with two set of hair:  1) Two 14 inches bundles and a 12inches  closure; 2) Three 10 inches bundles and 8 inches closure. I bought both of these from aliexpress.

To be able to do this I watched a few videos from peakmill, estelive and Ashley Bedeck on YouTube. I made what I…

I Made My First Wig With 2 Bundles & Closure| Aliexpress Hair | CGG

Hello and welcome to my blog. In this post I will continue on with my previous post about my recent purchase from Aliexpress.

If you are wondering whether two bundles and a closure is enough then my answer is yes. When I was done with the wig I didn't have the bleach and developer to bleach the knots. So I parted the hair properly and used concealer. Please picture below.

I have now bleached the knots and so the parting looks some what natural. After bleaching the knots I used the remainder of the bleach on the hair just to see how th hair will turn out. Let me know if you have used two bundles and a closure before.

Let me just say that I am not a professional so these may not look as good as those you see on YouTube however my aim was to make something I can wear everyday. I personally do not have the time to be gelling my baby hairs and the lot. I am more of slap it on snatch it off girl no time for baby hair business 😄.

Thanks for stopping by and let me know if you have attem…
