What I Wore | ASOS | Club L

Hello and welcome to my blog. In this post I will be writing about my my birthday look last year.

I envisioned everything before purchasing the dress, the shoes and the piece of hair I added to mine. In this shoot I wore my own hair as i had a strong edge to wear my own hair. If you have plaits, it will look really nice on it too. Another garment I envisioned with this look was a fur coat of some sort, however I couldn't find one. I might just redo this again soon.

I wanted to go bold and stand out with the colours. I must have seen the dress a couple of times while browsing on ASOS. So I opted for this velvet goldfish-mustardish colour dress from ASOS. The brand is Club L in UK size 8. I fit in this size perfectly now as I am usually a 4 or 6.

"... in everything that you do, do it with all your might because in the grave there no  work, device wisdom and knowledge"
The shoes are called truffle also from ASOS. The shoes can be quite difficult to walk in however if you do not make sudden movement, you should be fine and stable most of the time.

I have seen this mustard colour combination with black alot so this was my time to try and be different. The colour shoes I thought were electric blue, gold and red.

I got the makeup done by a friend so it looks better last year than this year but it still works out fine in my opinion. Please picture below.

Last years look
I loved the boldness of the colours from the dress to the shoes and the lipstick. Whereas it is not overly daring, you can wear this to some summer parties even to summer weddings as a guest. Why because summer is approaching and we want to look our best.

Check out my YouTube video for this look in the beginning of this post and let me know what you would have done differently.

Thrifted Transformation Project: Process

Hello and welcome. It has been a while since I made a post. I promise to keep the post coming. In this post I am introducing you to an outfit I put together. The top part of the outfit is made with Kente cloth which is a traditional Ghanaian print. This was a piece of cloth that came with a dress my grandad made for me a few years back. I am having to thrift that dress and will reveal it soon. The design and material I had in mind I watched YouTube to replicate a pattern however after putting it together I didn't like it as I felt it was too revealing and was thinking of throwing it away or taking it apart and using it for something else until I had an epiphany 😂. (I've been wanting to use this word for some time now so here goes). I wanted to wear it as a top with various skirts.  I also had a few scuba fabrics I bought from ebay I wanted to make some skirt out of it to wear with the top. I bought lining for the scuba skirt however it didn't arrive s

Introducing: My First Thrifted Transformation Project

Hello and welcome to my blog. So as you may know I recently decided to be more of content creator or creative and have picked up sewing. This is something I wanted to learn for sometime however due unforseen circumstances they got brushed off. In addition to my multiple sewing projects I have an outfit I am transforming. I have had the outfit for some time now and the idea was that with time I will grow into it but that never happened. Due to this, now is the time to transform it to my size and wear it. When this was getting made in Ghana, I didn't send my measurement and I assume my grandad thought I had put on weight. The dress was almost twice my size when I got it first. The initial style was halter neck however I have completely change the style to an off shoulder-like dress. See pic below.  The questions is to whether have this as a skirt and top or a dress. A dress will be easier in themes of having the supplies I need whereas a top and skirt are the easi

Beauty From Within - Hydrolysed Collagen

Hello and welcome to my blog. This beauty within post is a product review of Holland and Barrett hydrolysed collagen with vitamin C. Hydrolysed Collagen as we may or may not know is a building block of the skin and is very popular in skin care products such as lotions and serums. Together with vitamin C when taken helps to maintain the skins elasticity thereby giving you a youthful look. I have taken this some years back but have not recently because it is costly. A bottle cost £32.99 however Holland and Barrett were doing an offer for £10.00 each I believe so I bought two to take again. The size of the tablets are better now compared to before. The instruction states to take three tablets twice a day which is a bit much 😁. I will report back with any visible changes to the texture of my skin. I got to choose two sample skin lotion as well. I chose aloe Vera and snail.  Make sure you subscribe to get a notification regarding my next post. Iryn
